About Me

Hello! My name is Garrett Scanlon. I am an investment real estate broker and author of these books:

I speak to companies, brokerages, schools, and groups on the topics of:

  • Real Estate
  • Leadership
  • Decision-making for young adults during their high school years
  • Life planning

I find that drawing on real-life stories of winners in the marketplace helps to inspire me and others to greater success.

My Background

Upon graduating from Miami University, I began my career in real estate, in Columbus, Ohio, the same year Ronald Reagan entered the White House. My interest in the leadership style of the former president came from seeing the incredible turnaround of the U.S. economy and the morale of the American people, during his 8 years in office.

I have personally closed over $400 million dollars of investment real estate, and have served as Director of Leasing for CASTO, one of the longest-standing and most successful real estate development companies in the country. I continue to represent buyers and sellers of investment properties in Central Ohio.

Unique Access to Extraordinary Winners in the Marketplace

My career has provided me with unique personal access to some of the most talented people in real estate, medicine, law, insurance, hospitality, law enforcement, and civic enterprise. My first book, Walking and Talking, consists of 57 stories of success and humor from some of these top leaders in the world of business. These stories and others are included in lunch-and-learns and all-day training sessions.

Seeing Past Friday Night

I enjoy sharing great ideas and lessons that I have learned from whom I consider heroes in the marketplace. This led me to also serve as a volunteer for Junior Achievement to speak to young adults in schools about how they might maximize their potential. My book, Seeing Past Friday Night, is aimed at giving students unique strategies they can use to deal with the challenges they face in high school.

I wrote Single Page Life Plan, with the idea that once a business plan or a life plan spills onto a second page, it is thrown into a manilla folder and forgotten about until the following year. This unique system forces your priorities to earn their way to page one! It is designed to help you add to your day, more:

  • Time
  • Energy
  • Organization
  • Productivity
  • Spontaneity

Tangible Takeaways!

I try to create tangible takeaways that you can use to make you more successful at work, school, or home.
